Deep-fried king mackerel fish cakes, a 100-year-old recipe from Sampeng-Yaowarat. Made with fresh, firm king mackerel, minimal flour, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served with a rich and flavorful cucumber and peanut dipping sauce. A best-seller, selling 100 kg a day!
I tried the famous deep-fried king mackerel fish cakes and let me tell you, they were amazing! Chewy yet tender, not flat like those with a lot of flour. The flavor was rich and delicious. The price was reasonable, and they were made fresh and hot.
You have to come early to get a queue number, otherwise you'll wait for a very, very long time. Even during the Vegetarian Festival, there are still huge queues. If you come after 10 am, you'll have to wait a long time, but if you buy it to fry yourself, you'll get it right away in a short wait.
